Chissà se è necessario, eppure quei numeri e quelle lettere inscritti in un volto mi

inducono a pensare, entro ed esco dal dipinto... io che amo la materia, passando la mano su un dipinto di Presti vibro le corde di quell’amore sopra citato e mi viene facile dire e

ripetere che la sua pittura, densa e avvolta in un corpo solido, lo porterà lontano.

Fabio è isolano, di quella Sicilia così ricca di energia e di storia, attracco necessario per chi naviga il Mediterraneo. Il suo viaggio straordinario, nel mondo delle arti figurative, inizia nel 2005 da Catania e, navigando verso nord, la sua sensibilità incontra quei visi neutri, quei corpi vuoti, quei momenti (a)sociali, di forma standard, di ipermercati e centri commerciali. Il suo ruolo sociale, e questo lo dico io con determinazione, è quello di

togliere la neutralità, il vuoto, dare umanità, stimolo alla riflessione, indurre a misurarci con il proprio io (ora sono dentro il dipinto), e mi pare che ci siamo! Ecco che numeri e

lettere, come codici (gen)etici, in quei suoi volti, un tempo vuoti, danno agli osservanti la risoluzione. Per ultimo la musica, che è nelle sue corde, da alle opere di Fabio, quelle

pittoriche si intende, quell’armonia di forma, equilibrio e sobria campitura, insomma un opera compiuta, come quella di padre e uomo innamorato... irreparabilmente.
